Title

Letter from Edward Sisson to Dr. William Rainey Harper, October 4, 1897

Description

University of Chicago President William Rainey Harper encouraged Lydia Bradley to establish a school during her lifetime. Harper served as a Bradley Polytechnic Institute (BPI) Trustee and stayed informed of the institute's progress as demonstrated by this letter from BPI Director Edward O. Sisson. In it, Sisson describes the school's first day of operation and seeks Harper’s help in remedying a personal dispute between Mrs. Bradley and Mrs. Greenhut regarding the latter’s guest at a Bradley event.
