Title
Bradley Hall fire video, January 12, 1963
Description
This film depicts firefighting efforts to save Bradley Hall on the night of January 12, 1963. The blaze began shortly after 8:00 p.m., and temperatures plunged to -22° F while winds gusted at 35 mph. Fire hoses froze to the ground. Only the exterior walls remained standing.
Fundraising to rebuild began almost immediately with a $75,000 gift from Louis and Selma Neumiller. In 1965, Bradley Hall returned bigger than before with a full fourth floor. And the Gargoyles survived!
