First Women's Basketball team photograph, 1904
Title
First Women's Basketball team photograph, 1904
Description
This photograph shows the first women's basketball team on campus. Who knew these humble beginnings would lead to Bradley women playing in their first NCAA Tournament in 2021?
Women's fashion standards in the early 1900s typically featured ensembles of high-necked and long-sleeves tops, full-cut split skirts, and dark stockings to cover legs visible below the hemline. Gym uniforms for women were not much different. Though, evidenced by our photograph collection, women had the choice of blouse color: white or dark.
