First issue of Bradley News, 1922
Title
First issue of Bradley News, 1922
Description
For some years, the Alumni Association discussed the need to bring alumni and former students together. Bradley News was the result with the first issue published February 1, 1922. Articles included a recap of the twenty-fifth Founder's Day, the first Homecoming, and convocation exercises. Helena Leisy, an English major, received the first A.B. degree from BPI. The President's annual letter was also included in this issue. Although Bradley Polytechnic Institute paid for publication, Bradley asked alumni to contribute 50 cents to help finance the printing and mailing of the first two issues in the hopes that the publication could become self-sufficient. Bradley News would eventually evolve into Alumni News, then Hilltopics, and now Bradley Magazine.
