First Founder's Day program, 1898

Description

On October 8, 1898, Bradley Polytechnic Institute celebrated its first Founder's Day one year after the opening exercises for the school. The program for the event included a procession of students, faculty, trustees and the founder herself - Lydia Moss Bradley. University of Chicago professor and geologist Thomas C. Chamberlain gave the keynote address. Founder's Day remains an important university tradition.
