Caberet theater program, 2005

Title

Caberet theater program, 2005

Description

Theater productions and their carefully written programs are particularly important windows into the past.

In 2005, Bradley’s production of Cabaret showed the theater program’s values. Cabaret challenged audience members to ask “What would I do?” when faced with tough situations, be it artists confronted with the rise of prejudice in the late 1920s or the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s and 1990s. The program draws our attention to more than one instance when a nation or community has avoided taking action.

In 2022, the production of a series of short plays called Voices from Ukraine continued that tradition of connecting the skills and talents of performers and technicians (on stage and backstage) to the ongoing relevance of the theatrical arts to current events and education about civics and community.
